This piece represents the an insight in to a persons mind who, is trying to escape their demons be it a past experience, an addiction , whatever makes them feel trapped.
Within the mind I have a tree, this is a tree that leads from the deep subconscious and up in to the light of hope and a safe place almost like a conduit to a better place.
The darkness at the bottom half of the painting is part of the mind, the deep and dark place where our demons hide, these demons represented as black hearts that fool us in to thinking they are a friend or a crutch to rely on. The tree pierces through the mind fog of turmoil and helplessness to the light and clarity.
The characters ‘Love & Hope’ are shown here, one climbing the tree to find the other. Each of the tree leaf canopies are a safe haven and rest place for the mind some, without anybody else there and others with the four hearts that represent the special people that can help you ‘Escape the Demons’.
